Great article and yes, we agree with your comments.
If they haven't already, it's time for recruitment agencies to start re-inventing themselves.
We have linked with a jobboard company, Job Affair, and have started to introduce Fixed Fee Recruitment.
Although it's still early days, we are seeing that this new (for us) method is really capturing our clients attention
Good luck to all in recruitment

It is understandable that the job market has slowed down in the UK; however we will see if more vacancies are created in the next year.

Jobs in the UK have slowed down for many reasons. People are afraid to hire new employees with the uncertain market. Employing new staff is costly and red tape makes it very hard for many start-up and small companies. Change is needed but likely much hurt will come first. Surprisingly some countries like Australia and Canada are still recruiting for many positions due to labour shortages. This is mainly due to the fact they have slow growing populations. Also the UK has the EU on its backdoor who ensure no position goes unturned. A good and bad thing really.

I'm glad that it is being recognised that there are jobs available in healthcare. I just hope there are practitioners with the appropriate skills to fill these jobs.

It's interesting to see these figures from earlier this year. Over the last couple of months we have seen a huge increase in enquiries for finance jobs in Manchester on our website, suggesting the sector has been picking up of late.
